Sipcon Profile Projectors with DRO are best suited for measuring cable insulation thickness of all types of cables including PVC and XLPE ranging from 0.1mm to 150mm cable diameter. The measurements are done as per the guidelines laid down in IEC 60811-1-1 standard. The bigger workstage can easily accommodate large samples as big as 150 mm in diameter. The standard accuracy is 5 microns which helps users precisely measure the insulation thickness so as to save on insulation material costs. The minimum resolution of 0.5/1 microns provides accurate readings up-to 4th decimal place with a magnification ranging from 10x-100x as specified in the IEC 60811-1-1 standard. The Profile Projector has a lens turret in which multiple lenses can be mounted and then with a quick rotation the required magnification lens can be used without losing time in lens set-ups.

Colour Measurement

The colour measurement module is a useful add-on for manufacturers of cables with multiple colors in the insulation thickness. An example of such a wire is the earth wire. In such cases there is a need to measure the percentage of each color in the cross-section. Also, thickness of different color layers can also be measured.
