Specialized Industrial Metrology Equipment for Quality Control in Manufacturing Processes

Our History

Sipcon Instrument Industries has been providing Industrial Metrology Solutions to the Global manufacturing sector since 1971. Beginning with Measuring Microscopes, Sipcon developed its first Profile Projector in 1991 and by within a short span of ten years it added more than 300 users to its client base. With the inputs from its users and prospective buyers, Sipcon realised a growing demand for a more accurate and precise measuring system which could even measure a part’s top features which a Profile Projector could not do.

The Vision Measuring System, also known as Video Measuring Machine, which was being used in the developed world since early 1990s was a relatively new concept in India in early 2000s and Sipcon took the initiative, with the help of its foreign principals, to develop a Vision Measuring System in-house which was launched in 2003. The system received good response from its users, especially the Automotive Component, Cutting Tools and Rubber and Plastic part manufacturers and by 2010 Sipcon had more than 200 users of its Vision Measuring System.

The manufacturing sector in India continued to grow in 2000-2010 period with many international manufacturers setting up plants in India either directly or through collaboration with Indian companies. The focus in quality control systems shifted to more efficient measuring systems which could not only measure accurately but also quickly.

In 2010, Sicpon with feedback from Industry personnel started working on a Field-of-View based instant measuring system in a collaboration with its European Partners and in 2012 launched Part Quickie and Cable Quickie. These systems could measure 2D dimensions of a flat part or a cable insulation cross section with just one-click. Sipcon was the first Indian company to develop such a system and the quality control professionals especially in the Cable Manufacturing Sector found immense value in this specialised measuring system. By 2019, there were 50 plus users of Part/Cable Quickie globally.

Location
Today, Sipcon has two manufacturing units 10 kms apart, one at Ambala Cantt and the other at Saha both in Haryana province in northern India. The nearest airport is the Chandigarh Domestic Airport located 50kms away and the IGI Airport, New Delhi 200 kms away.

What Our Clients say

Sadashiv Patil AGM, RR Kabel

We needed an offline insulation thickness measurement system for our new high voltage cables unit and Cable Quickie was just right for the job. It has better speed and measurement accuracy compared to our existing systems in the old low voltage unit and costed us one-third its price. We highly recommend Cable Quickie for insulation thickness quality control in a cable manufacturing plant.

Nihar Malik Quality Head, Anchor

Measuring insulation thickness of two concentric colors was a major challenge and our existing systems were unable to meet the requirement. Cable Quickie has not only solved the issue but also reduced the measurement time to 1-2 seconds which helped us in meeting the target of measuring 100-150 samples in a day.

Manjunath Plant Head, Lapp India

Our existing FOV based measuring systems had three major issues; a trained personnel was required to run it, the readings were always higher than the true values and automated concentricity calculation was missing. These led to inaccurate results and longer measurement times leading to sample pile-ups. Sipcon’s Cable Quickie solved these issues and costed us one-third the price of our existing measuring system.

Shailesh Patel Cable Division Head, ERDA

We needed insulation thickness measurements as per IEC 60811 and IS10810 guidelines for quality assurance purposes. Cable Quickie not only met that objective but also helps us calibrate our online measuring systems.
