Both online and offline measurement solutions are necessary in a cable manufacturing process and one cannot replace the other as each of the two serves a specific need. Infact, the offline system is used to calibrate the online systems. Whereas the online systems are placed right next to the extruder where they help in controlling the wall thickness. On the other hand Offline Systems are placed in quality controls labs and are used to re-confirm the wall thickness. More importantly they are used to perform measurements as per the set standards of that country to ensure that the cable meets the minimum thickness requirement from a safety view-point.
